The Night I Was Stranded

June 7th 2025, a buddy of mine and I were enjoying a spirited ride on the beautiful twisties of the Santa Rosa Plateau just near Murrieta California on my brand-new 2024 BMW S1000R with less than 500 miles on the clock, an unexpected patch of gravel led to a lowside. The front wheel was bent, the tire was unseated, and the ride was over.
The time was 6:00 PM. The frustration began immediately. While the bike was disabled, I was left dealing with painful road rash on my left knee. My riding buddy had a work commitment he couldn't miss and, after assuring him I would be able to find a tow despite my injuries, he reluctantly left about an hour later. Suddenly, I was alone, injured, and stranded miles from home, facing a rapidly setting sun.
